The Best Songs to Set the Spooky Mood
The night is young. The guests start to pile in. Food and fun is the expectation. No music? Buzz kill…
Is there a worse party killer than bad music playlist? We don’t think so! Some of our crew from across Canada put out their favourite Halloween party playlist songs.
Kristina in our Saskatoon Halloween location laid out the traditional songs right off the bat. Because in reality, there is no Halloween Party Playlist without the classic Michael Jackson, “Thriller”. That epic music video cost more than five hundred thousand dollars to create. Another crazy fact is that it also played in a movie theatre, so the masterpiece could qualify for an Oscar! (It didn’t end up nominated…so you know.)
Don from our Prince Albert location says it isn’t Halloween, until he hears the 1962 novelty song “Monster Mash” or the “Ghostbusters” theme song by Ray Parker Jr.
Beth from our Australia Knox Halloween location need to hear “Time Warp” from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Some other great Halloween Party songs, that aren’t quite as obvious are:
- “Season of the Witch” by Donnovan
- “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockewell
- “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” by Blue Öyster Cult
- “Highway to Hell” by AC/DC
- “I Put a Spell on You” by Nina Simone
- “Bring Me to Life” by Evanesance
- “Black Magic Woman” by Fleetwood Mac
- “Demons” by Sleigh Bells
What do you have on your playlist? Need a great Halloween background soundtrack, check out a Halloween location near you for a copy of Midnight Syndicate. It may just compose the music of your next nightmare!
Another tip for your Halloween Party Playlist – aim to have at least three hours of music. By doing that the sweet spot makes your playlist long enough that it won’t end too soon, but also keeps it short enough that you’ll likely hear most of the songs on it.
